We recently found a mint condition, never-played copy of our very first single from 1996, ‘The Fountain’ / ‘Lunar’, and we’ve decided to give it to our 1000th follower on Twitter.

rls01653

The single was released on Way Out Records, a little label run by Shane McEnhill, who was engineering at Heathmans at that point, and now runs Finyl Tweek Mastering.
‘The Fountain’ was named by Fabio as his tune of the year and was caned by DJs across the board. It now sells for between £30 – £50 on the secondhand market.

Here’s a user-review from discogs

The Fountain is probably Blu Mar Ten’s best intelligent track ever made in my (humble) opinion! A strong Bukem & Fabio favourite (which made The Fountain an instant Intelligent classic at the Speed @ Marsbar back in the day) but even nowadays a lot of liquid dj’s drop them in their set as well so it can be considered as Timeless and certainly intelligent artcore! The Fountain has luscious space pads accompanied with a light steppy (old school) break and deep synth space chords makes this one hell of a journey. This track is all about the groove and background fx! For more Jazz influenced DNB please flip over to Lunar, these tracks are definitely solid timeless piece of classic Intelligent DNB

Mastering house par excellence Finyl Tweek, (formerly Heathmans), have finally put their website live.

If you didn’t already know, Finyl Tweek is home to our great friend Shane McEnhill who is recognised as one of the best cutters of dance music in the business and has been taking care of our tracks since 1996.

This is Shane mastering our new single a couple of months ago.

The Finyl Tweek studios remain fully featured and now include a completely refitted pre-production and mixdown room, so all you need to do is bring your laptop, plug it into their firewire port and you’re off.

Visit the new Finyl Tweek site here.

This was up on our old blog and I’m gradually moving some of that stuff over here.

This is a short video of a mastering session we did for the new single with Shane down at Finyl Tweek (formerly Heathmans).
