Sending us tracks / demos

So I just wanted to write a quick note about how you go about sending us tracks for us to hear.

Method
The best thing to do is to send them via AIM to chrisblumarten. That way your track will end up in the same folder as everyone else’s and I will definitely listen to it when I get a chance.
You could send us tracks by Sendspace, but it’s very possible that I will forget to download it and then the link will expire etc..
You can also direct us to your Myspace or Soundcloud, but the chances of me actually getting round to checking them is little to none right now, sorry.
AIM is definitely the best way. My AIM is always on auto-accept so you can just send your tune through. Don’t wait for me to chat before sending because I’m probably not there and if I am there but not answering you it means I’m busy doing something else.
If, for some reason, your track fails to transfer, don’t start sobbing, just try again another day.

File Naming
When sending tracks, make sure you include your AIM name in the filename. In fact, the file naming convention should go like this:

ArtistName_TrackName_AIM-AimName.mp3

Formats
Send only 320k mp3s of full, completed tracks. Clips of tracks will just be deleted.
Under no circumstances send DJ mixes. We’re not interested in those at all.

What You Get
If we think your track is good / interesting / original / whatever, we will do our best to pass it on to a decent label who we think would be interested in your sound. We may also play it out and support it, but this is not necessarily the case.

What We Want In Return
A quiet life.
If you send a track please don’t hassle us asking for feedback. If it’s good, we’ll get back to you. You have to understand that, like everyone else, we are very busy people and it may take weeks before we get to hear your track. There’s no way we have the time to talk everyone through their tracks – sorry, but that’s just the way it is.
Constantly hassling us for feedback will probably get your tune binned and your AIM name blocked.

Please note – This is just with regards to sending *us* tracks. Other people feel completely differently about things.
