Been meaning to write something about these for ages…
Rob Graff is an old friend of ours. Leo & I first ran into him around 1997 when he was a mere youth of 19. He was making some absolutely great, forward-thinking d&b tracks which we really loved, and some of which found their way into Blame’s record box.
At one point he did even come to visit for a weekend so we could engineer one of his tracks for him. Unfortunately, the feat of chaining up an old mac with cubase, an EMU, an atari and several hardware synths etc proved too much and the collaboration was never finished.
Despite this, Rob continues to produce in various genres, particularly house and broken beat, and his productions are well worth picking up.
Something that you should also add to your list of things-to-do is subscribe to his monthly podcasts, and not just because they regularly feature some of our tracks. The selection is always bang on, ranging from deepest Detroit gems to heartbreaking obscure soul classics to bizarre ambient to complex drum & bass, and every podcast is different. These mixes are one of the few things I can listen to again and again without ever getting bored, so I strongly suggest you give your ears a treat and get downloading.
