So i played a club in Calgary, Canada last week called Sal’s. I was so pleased when I found out the show was at Sal’s because of a photo made famous by Nu:Tone when he played there a couple of years ago…

I was really hoping to top the $6.00 mark, but imagine my delight when I saw that the headliner was WAITRESSES NEEDED.

Possible highlight of the tour to be honest.

Stray: Debut London DJ Set

You may have heard a lot of noise recently about a new artist called Stray.

Stray is a young producer from London who we encountered a couple of years ago when he was writing under the name ‘JJ’. We could see he had promise even back then and regularly played his tracks on Ministry of Sound Radio.
Since then, he’s come on leaps and bounds and has recently been causing a stir in drum & bass with his stripped-back, icily beautiful tunes.

A couple of these were featured in our September Mix and instantly prompted a swarm of requests for more information on the man and his music. He has also signed the deeply abstract ‘Timbre‘ to Critical Music for their new album ‘Critical Sound‘ which is due for release imminently, and is attracting the attention of several other major labels.

Seeing how far he’s come, and with all the buzz surrounding Stray right now, we’re immensely pleased to host his debut DJ set in London at the ‘Natural History’ launch party alongside Doc Scott, Nookie and ourselves.

So if you want to see what all the fuss is about get yourselves down to The Last Days of Decadence on November 12th and hear drum & bass’s next-big-thing deliver the goods.

Following on from Omni Trio’s dynamite performance at the last Old Skool Session, we’re pleased to announce another serious line-up for Atmosphere’s next sprint down memory lane.

FOUL PLAY & DEEP BLUE: 2 hour Moving Shadow Classics Set
One of the most important collectives in breakbeat’s shift from hardcore to jungle during the early â€™90s, Foul Play recorded a raft of seminal tracks for Moving Shadow including “Open Your Mind”,”Being with You” and their remix of Omni Trioâ€™s “Renegade Snares”. The trio of Steve Bradshaw, John Morrow and Steve Gurley began releasing material in the early â€™90s, on their own label as well as Section 5 and Oblivion.
Fellow Moving Shadow soldier Deep Blue will be continuing the quality control with his half of a classics set. Responsible for a collection of early jungle classics including the legendary “Helicopter Tune”, Deep Blue will be reminding you why that era of drum & bass is held in such high regard.

Foul Play & Deep Blue will be supported by Atmosphere chief Nookie, PFM, Blu Mar Ten, Concrete, Barrington & Morocco. Vocals will be provided by your hosts Lady Free and Five Alive.
