I posted a couple of days ago that we’ve been uploading loads of our old back-catalogue to our Soundcloud page.

We’re still finding more stuff to put up there and we just came across this old track, ‘Backflips’, from 1997 that was never released.
It’s ok, but was never going to set the world alight, which is probably why it was never released.

Big Back-Catalogue Update On Our Soundcloud

We’ve been going through loads of our old tunes and uploading them to our Soundcloud page.

There’s stuff from the Good Looking days which a lot of people will know but also some tracks and remixes that haven’t been heard much.
We had trouble tracking down some of it as we didn’t have copies ourselves so thanks to everyone who’s helping us to fill in the blanks, especially @Gordeyboy.

187 tracks so far but we still haven’t finished uploading everything so follow our Soundcloud to see updates.

Here’s a little track from 2006 that we never finished.
Stray heard it when he was loitering around the studio and insisted on having a copy to play out.
We might work it up into a full track. Then again we may well not.

While taking a break in the studio a few nights ago I found a couple of old tracks stuffed down a dark corner of a hard drive so I stuck them up on youtube with some entertaining visuals for those who have an interest in this sort of thing. When I get bored again I’ll upload some of the other (many) unreleased tunes that are kicking around.

‘Pawprints‘ is from 1997 and ‘My Heart‘ is from 2005. Neither were ever released, and that’s not going to change.

New single: Artwork Preview

The release date for our first single from the forthcoming album is looming large, and in anticipation of its arrival we’re pleased to unveil the artwork for the vinyl sleeve.
The sleeve has been created by talented designer, i think it’s nice, who also built this site for us. We’ll be doing a little interview / feature on him at some point in the future so watch out for that.

As we’ve mentioned previously, the vinyl will be ‘Close’ b/w ‘Above Words’, with ‘If I Could Tell You’ as a digital exclusive. You can hear clips of all three tracks below.
Just so you know, we’re working closely with our distributor to try and ensure that the vinyl and MP3s hit the stores on exactly the same day.

Proper breakthrough track for us. Defined the ways of working we still use now.
Was also the first tune LTJ Bukem was interested in, the first of our tunes we heard played on the radio (kiss) and the first of our tunes we ever heard in a club (ministry)

M Sound – 1996
Totally inspired by ‘Aquisse’, by Justice

Midnight Bazaar – 1996
Downtempo track that later got turned into ‘Slipstream’, which came out on Good Looking

Sandstorm – 1996
A mutated form of this became a breaks track called ‘Coloratura’, which was on the ‘six million names of god’ album in 2003

Pawprints – 1997
Odd little dark thing

Backflips – 1997
Little atmo-roller. Not exciting enough to ever come out though

Ichor – 1997
Didn’t work at all…never been sure why. It should have done, but just didn’t..

Osaka (downbeat mix) – 1998
A kind of hip hop version of Osaka, the d&B track which came out on Blame’s 720 degrees label

Too Late – 2002
Just an experiment. It was never really going anywhere tbh

Blot You Out – 2002
another experiment that wasn’t really going anywhere

Busty Loose – 2003
Possible non-d&b album track, that eventually fell by the wayside.

The Start of a Tune
